Who we are

My name is Carrie and I am a 27-year veteran educator who has taught at every level from elementary to college. Most of my career has been spent teaching middle school, where I have taught Reading, ELA, Journalism, Communications Media, and technology-focused electives. In addition to classroom teaching, I have extensive experience developing curriculum, designing instructional materials, and mentoring new teachers.

Beyond K–12, I have taught online and hybrid college courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in Reading, Literacy, and Curriculum & Instruction. I have also created full online courses for universities looking to expand their digital offerings. My instructional experience spans traditional classrooms, digital learning environments, game-based learning, and hands-on project-based classrooms.

My teaching style blends creativity, structure, and student-centered design. I believe that learners thrive when instruction is engaging, accessible, and connected to real-world skills. I integrate educational games, digital tools, and multimedia into my lessons to help students build confidence and master complex concepts in fun, interactive ways.
